Founded in 2000 on Chicago’s near west side with local artists, Arts of Life was Chicago’s first day program focused on artistic vocational opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Guided by a vision of inclusivity and creativity, Arts of Life fosters a community where artists, staff, volunteers, and interns have a voice in studio programming. Our goal is to create a supportive environment that encourages growth and mutual thriving. We serve 80+ artists across the Chicagoland area and also host Circle Contemporary, a unique exhibition space with year-round programming featuring guest curators and artists.
Member Duties : A VISTA Member will work with staff to reimagine Arts of Life’s volunteer and intern programs. They will develop and implement recruitment, application, onboarding, and training processes, while assisting with volunteer and intern development, retention, and engagement. The role includes creating systems to track, evaluate, and recognize volunteers and interns, developing calendars and check-ins, and supporting staff in sustaining these processes.
