FLSA Exemption: Exempt

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with other teams to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software/applications. 

• Design, develop and maintain database platforms including but not limited to Postgres, SQL Server etc.

• Create and maintain database standards, naming standards and best practices.

• Work with software engineers to develop processes from a database perspective.

• Administer database platforms, monitor, maintain and optimize databases and servers.

• Work with data engineers and business leaders to promote a shared vision of our data platform & architecture.

What you have: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience building transactional, data lake or data warehouse databases On-Prem and CLOUD.

• Expertise in SQL coding.

• Significant experience with Postgres, SQL Server on-prem or cloud, particularly AWS.

• Have expertise in code-based data pipelines using Python, Scala or a similar language.

• Good understanding of overall data platform and software engineering practices including Dev Ops and CI/CD. (Jira, DBT, Airflow, Confluence, GIT etc.)

• Experience with database administration like monitoring, optimization, security, availability, integrity would be a big plus.

• A self-starter mindset to proactively take ownership and execute work without daily oversight.

·       Expertise on database platforms and understanding of development, administration and DevOps processes.

·       Out of the box thinking to find solutions and automation-oriented focus mindset. Ability to learn quickly any tools to work with.

·       Experience designing, developing, optimizing, maintaining and monitoring database platforms.

·       Exceptional SQL Development and performance tuning skills.
