Job Description

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (G.E.D., HiSET, TASC)
  • Gardener/Maintenance/Custodial experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently or as a team, coachable, accountable.
  • Organized, detailed and goal oriented
  • Exhibit quick and logical thinking

 

Hiring Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Must be able to pass OSBI, MVR, DHS Registry Check and background check requirements.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work with portable ladders up to 20 feet, while maintaining safety standards
  • Utilize checklist to work efficiently.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and documents in various formats

 

Physical Requirements:

The following physical requirements are necessary to meet this Job Description:

  • Standing up to eight hours; adequate dexterity and visual skills to perform job.
  • Able to: move up to 50 pounds (vertically), 25 pounds (horizontally); and to a maximum distance of 100 feet.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather and extreme temperatures.

 

Staff will be counseled for failure to adhere to maximum weights and non-use of required Safety Equipment.

 

Job Conditions:

Normal working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday, Thursday, Friday; then Thursday, Friday- totaling 40 hours over 2 weeks’ pay period. One hour lunch break. 

 

This position is non-exempt and receives overtime pay at one- and one-half times the regular rate of pay for all hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek, beginning Saturday 12:00am through Friday midnight. This schedule is reviewed and adjusted each week according to agency’s needs and unforeseen circumstances. Additional work hours may be required in emergencies. This position is under Excluded Remote Work Designation, not eligible for remote work designation.

Scope:

The primary responsibility of this position is the safety, presentation and maintenance of Agency grounds and building exteriors. Includes custodial and equipment maintenance responsibilities. 

 

Agency Responsibilities:

—  Strong knowledge of DRTC’s mission, philosophies, policies/procedures and organizational structure.

—  Comprehends and complies with all standards set forth by regulatory agencies, as applicable.

—  Use agency tools and procedures to ensure organization and consistency.

 

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of DRTC’s grounds and facilities.
    • Perform landscaping tasks: safely apply lawn and maintenance chemicals.
    • Conduct basic repairs, ensure proper usage, function and maintenance of irrigation systems.
    • Perform janitorial tasks, maintain assigned janitorial supplies and equipment.
    • Follow all OSHA safety standards, utilize appropriate Personal Protection Equipment, (PPEl.
    • Help with setting up company events
  • Operate and maintain vehicles and lawn equipment, ensure proper tool storage after use. Use DRTC equipment on-site during operating hours only.
  • Clean and restock restrooms, kitchens, common areas; vacuum and spot clean as needed.
