Position: Nursery Attendant
Reports to: Pastor of Children & Family Ministry
Status: Part-time
Hours: Sundays 7:45AM to 11:45AM (with flexibility for extra events, planning, and cleaning)
Do you have a heart for little ones and a passion to share God's love with the youngest members of the church family? We're seeking a joyful, dependable, and compassionate Lead Nursery Attendant to care for children ages birth to 2 years old during Sunday worship and ages 3 years to 5th grade on occasion. You'll help create a warm, safe, and Christ-centered space where children are loved, comforted, and encouraged to grow in God's love.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Ensure each child feels safe, loved, and cared for through hands-on interaction, communication, and attentiveness.
● Assist with weekly play-based Christian lessons (provided) with simple crafts, games, music, and story time. Be creative to keep children and other nursery workers engaged.
● Maintain a clean and inviting environment: prepare/clean toys and space before and after services.
● Partner with a Lead Nursery Attendant to provide nurturing care during all three worship services.
● Diaper changing and light cleaning to ensure health and comfort.
● Cover for the lead if there is a Sub.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Must be 18 years or older.
● A love for Jesus and for nurturing children in faith.
● Previous experience with infants/toddlers (babysitting, caregiving, or preschool).
● High school diploma preferred.
● Safe Gatherings certification (or willingness to obtain) and background check required.
● Basic communication skills: email, texting, computer/tv, and use of check-in systems.
