Position Title: Payroll Manager

Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid)

Assignment Type: Permanent Hire

Compensation: $130,000 – $140,000 / year

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description:

Addison Group is partnering with a client to identify a Payroll Manager to oversee and execute end-to-end U.S. payroll operations. This is a high-visibility role requiring hands-on payroll processing expertise, strong compliance knowledge, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Payroll Manager will own payroll processing within a modern payroll system, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and partner closely with Accounting, HR, and Finance leadership. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, confident working independently, and comfortable managing payroll operations with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute full-cycle U.S. payroll processing using a cloud-based payroll system
• Review payroll inputs including time data, benefits, deductions, bonuses, and other earnings
• Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, and off-cycle payments
• Maintain accurate payroll records and perform regular audits to ensure data integrity
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Partner with Accounting and HR teams to support payroll reporting and reconciliations
• Assist with payroll tax filings, documentation, and audit support
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee data at all times

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of U.S. payroll experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience using Workday Payroll or a similar enterprise payroll system
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance and regulatory requirements
• Experience managing payroll audits, reporting, and data validation
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday
